Camping Recipe: Easy Grilled Veggies and Sausages

Ingredients

  • ¾ pound fresh green beans
  • ½ pound red potatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 pound smoked sausage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon butter

Instructions:

  1. Start by washing and drying all of your produce.
  2. Trim the green beans and have them, then quarter your red potatoes and slice the onion.
  3. Slice of sausage into 1-inch pieces.
  4. Heat a large cast-iron skillet over your campfire until hot, and then toss in a drizzle of oil and brown the sausages
  5. Remove the sausages from the pan, add another drizzle of oil, and toss in the green beans, potatoes, and onions. 
  6. Season with salt and pepper and cook until the potatoes are browning and soft enough to pierce with a fork.
  7. Return the sausage to the pan and stir to combine season with additional salt and pepper and a teaspoon of butter to your liking.
  8. Remove from the heat and serve over rice or with crusty bread.
